Stamp Artists

Rubber stamp artists are a fun and diverse lot to say the least. Here are a few of them...

Justin

What sort of mind originates "Man evolving," "Speed," and much of our weirdest artwork? He appears very normal, until you see his sketch book. Justin Barnes was born in Aztec, New Mexico and moved to a small town in Indiana, on the outskirts of Chicago, at the age of 8. Justin is now 18 years old and has returned to Aztec where he holds a part time job and does artwork in his spare time. He enjoys sketching in pencil, pen and ink drawings, charcoal, painting, and computer graphics. You can see more of Justin's artwork at zero23.com. If you'd like to let him know what you think, e-mail him at seamonster66@hotmail.com.

Beth

Beth McClure has been the designated artist for Aztec UFO events every year since 1999. Her designs adorn the official t-shirts, mugs, caps and totes which are sold each year to further raise funds for the proposed new Aztec Library. ALIEN Artwork is not Beth's only talent and you can view her range of talent at www.maverickcreations.com. On this site, a venture she shares with her sister Katee and Katee's husband, Steve Dahlstrom, you'll find another venture, ART clocks! Not only do these clocks adorn walls in Aztec, NM but they have been sent all over the US, Austria, Japan and South America. Beth's rubber stamp designs include "Alien trio," "Davinci's Alien" and many of the Southwest designs.

April

An avid stamper, April enjoys mail art, collecting decks of cards, frogs, and Titanic items as well as playing a mean game of air hockey! She lives in Reno, Nevada.

Mary

Mary Boshardt is a printmaker, painter, and ceramic mask artist, now living in Farmington, New Mexico. She considers herself a visionary artist who is guided by Spirit to evoke the emotions of the heart. Mary's vibrant and colorful images are inspired by nature and ancient art. She believes that all art is energy, transforming the invisible and unsaid to a visible form, that speaks to each of us in a unique and personal way.
Although not formally trained, her first introduction to art was in the early 80s in Chicago, Illinois, with ceramics. This led into developing a line of jewelry that was nationally distributed for several years under the name Avaunt Designs to boutiques and department stores across the country. After moving to the Durango, Colorado, area in 1993, she began painting. Participating in workshops with Steven Quiller, Al Brouillete, Nita Leland, Betsy Dillard Stroud and others, greatly contributed to her knowledge and understanding of the artistic process.
Printmaking, using various techniques including monoprints, linocuts, solar etching are now also part of Mary's artistic endeavors. The images used in this work are Mary's interpretations of the ancient rock art found so abundantly in the surrounding area. Her artwork represented here include "Wild One," and "Dreaming."
